“WRIGHTING PLAYS”

I am offering a playwriting workshop that meets on Zoom.

In this workshop, we explore the art and craft of playwriting:

  • Dialogue and diction
  • Character development
  • Page to Stage
  • The non-verbal:
    • Visual
    • Spatial
    • Musical
  • Plot
  • Structure
  • Story

Each week, members work on their plays, and we will read them and discuss them in the workshop. Often, I will give exercises and/or prompts.

It doesn’t matter if you’ve never written a play before. What matters here is a keen interest and a commitment to passionately and compassionately engage.

The workshop operates in four-week sections. You sign up for 4 weeks. In week 3, you commit to another four weeks, or give up your space to the next person on the waiting list. (This doesn’t mean, of course, you can’t come back. You can!)

It costs $100 for the 4 sessions.

Write to me to reserve your place.

This workshop is good for you if:

  • You want to write a play.
  • You like working with a group.
  • You can commit to 4 consecutive Wednesdays.
  • You have written other things but never a play.
  • You have participated in theater at all.
  • You have seen theater and liked it.
  • You have written plays and want to write more.
  • You have things in your own writing that you’d like to work on, and you think playwriting might help.

This workshop probably isn’t for you if:

  • You only want to write screenplays.
  • You can’t commit to 4 consecutive Wednesdays.
  • You don’t really like working in a group.
  • You’ve never seen a play.
  • You don’t have $100 to spend.
